A Presentation on “Energy from Biomass: status, issues and way forward” by Eng. Parakrama Jayasinghe, Former President of Bio Energy Association of Sri Lanka

Forestry for a Low-Carbon Future”, the first of the series of forestry related seminars by SLCARP, will be held on 10th December 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Seminar Hall, SLCARP, Colombo-07.

 

Sri Lanka Council for Agriculture Research Policy (SLCARP) is considered as the umbrella organization of the National Agricultural Research System (NARS) that coordinates Research and Development Institutes within several Ministries of the country.

 

SLCARP has identified its own perspectives, plans and programs for the future in keeping with the aspirations and goals of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Economic Affairs, Irrigation and Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development to meet the future challenges in enhancing the domestic food production and exports, focusing on poverty alleviation.

 

The National Committee on Forestry of the Sri Lanka Council for Agricultural Research Policy (SLCARP) is planning a series of Forestry related Seminars on priority research areas of the sector. The first seminar of the series, titled: “Forestry for a Low-Carbon Future” will be held on 10th December 2019, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Seminar Hall, SLCARP. We are expecting an audience of the private and government sector and academic representatives.

 

A presentation on “Energy from Biomass: status, issues and way forward” will be made by Eng. Parakrama Jayasinghe, former president of Bio Energy Association of Sri Lanka from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
